Propane & Multi-fuel Stoves & Lanterns Buy the World offers several models, sizes, weights, number of burners, manufacturers & fuel requirements for you to consider when you shop for a camp stove. You may select from liquid propane refillable tanks &/or cartridge models, some of which use multi-fuels. Unless clearly specified, the fuel cartridges or bottles do not come w/the stove.
Please Note: Until now, we haven't carried filled fuel bottles or cartridges on our Buy the World Internet site because there is a very expensive per order hazardous material fee added to the shipping cost. However, because so many of you have told us that you already have a stove but can't find the fuel cartridges locally, we decided to make them available to you. Please see the Fuel Cartridges & Fuel Cells section for the available choices. Empty fuel bottles for camp stoves are listed w/each stove brand; there is no additional hazardous material fee for shipping empty fuel bottles.
Further Note: For ground transportation shipping within the U.S., the hazardous material fee is $22.00, added to the usual shipping charge. For other destinations, please call Buy the World.
Cartridge stoves use cylindrical containers of compressed gases (butane, isobutane, propane, etc.), which produce less heat in cold, windy weather.
Liquid gas stoves burn white gas or kerosene, etc., & are generally heavier to carry, although they burn well in cold weather.
Selecting a camp stove also depends upon what kind of outdoor trips you usually take. For instance, if you're a hiker, you probably want the lightest, most compact stove you can find for heating coffee & boiling lightweight food packages. On the other hand, if your dream getaway is taking weekend vehicle trips to your favorite fishing spot, a rugged & heavier double-burner stove should serve you well. Remember, the stove weight, unless specified, does not include the fuel cartridge or tank.
Camping stoves may come w/a knob for adjusting the flame, an integrated fuel tank or a hose & valve connected to a fuel cylinder or tank, an electronic ignitor, or a carrying case or stuff sack. These features affect the price & also the ease of using & enjoying your stove.
In addition to our light, high output single burner backpacking stoves & Masterbuilt cooker/fryer/smoker units, we are proud to feature Rocky Mountain Range Co. portable propane stoves because we think they are the best in their class for effortless mobility, performance, features & reliability. Choose from single- or double-burner stoves in powder-coated steel or aluminum, all reasonably lightweight & no bigger than a suitcase. Once you read the features offered w/each stove, we think you'll agree.
Warning Note: As you know, special safety precautions must always be used w/all propane & multi-fuel products. Please carefully read & always follow all manufacturers' literature & set-up, use & safety instructions. |
