1841 Half Scale Replica Field Gun
These are replicas of an 1841 model No. 1 gun carriage. This was the standard light field artillery piece used by the North and the South during the conflict. These guns are not mass produced, but are hand crafted, individually signed and numbered works of art
The replicas are produced at half scale, making them about 6 ft. long (depending on barrel), 3 ft. wide and 30 in. high.
Each wheel has a 1-/4 in. X 1-3/4 in. steel tire, which is heat shrunk onto the rim. The wheel hub includes a replaceable sleeve bearing, ensuring years of service. All carriage irons and fittings are hand forged from mild steel.
Included with each gun is a set of implements consisting of a ramrod and cleaning patch combination tool, a worm and sponge (brush) combination tool, a hand spike and a fuse pick. All of these can be displayed with the gun on hooks provided.
Each gun combination is custom built to your specifications. The carriage comes with either a natural wood finish or painted in a close match to the original army color scheme.
Barrel and carriage are packed in a wooden crate for shipping and storage. Weight is about 160 lb.
